Hypothesis: Does shape affect growth?

Paper based assay:

We had a great deal of contamination in last class's experiment. 

-One of the possible explanation to the contamination is that the Vaseline may have served as a food source because of its chemical carbon structure.

-Another possibility is that we need to improve our aseptic techniques.

 

New aseptic technique plan:

-Sterilize the paper assay by dipping it in ethanol with Vaseline on the back.

-Sterilize the Petri--dish with ethanol.
